Ooooh ask game! :D
4. do you have a favorite co-founder?
and
16. what’s your favorite thing about shane?
I want to hear allllllll your thoughts! <3
NOA! MY BELOVED! I feel like you know me so well and that's why you asked the ones you did. I did also put off answering this for a few hours to try and give it a good think. I'll try to be brief, but you know I love to talk about these Founders! Let me answer backwards...
Favorite thing about Shane: Obviously his creativity and intelligence are some of his best traits - hello PH original songs! But I think what I love most about Shane is that he always seems ready to roll with anything happening at Watcher. Just look at his appearances on Dish Granted, or Worth a Shot, when he was so supportive of Steven and Ricky - to the point he said he was gonna leave PH to join Ricky in making drinks lol. And Shane knows he's not an athletic guy, but when he was at roller derby training he keep rolling (heh) with it.
He's like the ultimate improv partner, always read to "yes, and..." whatever is thrown at him. It's one of the things that makes his on-camera chemistry with Ryan pop - because they both know where they can jump in to keep the bit going after years of working together (and I've often thought Shane would have similar report with Steven, if they'd give them more screen-time).
Favorite co-founder: I CAN'T CHOOSE! I really did go back and forth over this so let me talk it out and we'll see what happens.
Anyone who follows my blog should already know that I'm a Steven Lim fan, so much so that I participated in a whole week- long event talking about how awesome he is! I'm not sure what else I could say about Steven that I haven't already - except I was so proud when he got the Digital Influencer award at UG in December! He definitely has the potential to be my favorite co-founder.
Then there's Ryan Steven Bergara.
Ryan also feels a little more relatable, at least to me, because of his anxiety and the way he talks about some things. And watching FYA is my new favorite pastime because I love how detailed he gets about his hyperfixation of theme parks. I get more excited about a new FYA then I do PW - sorry not sorry!
I don't have any evidence for this, but I feel like Watcher wouldn't have started out like it did if not for Ryan pushing for certain creative decisions. Maybe part of that is due to him creating Making Watcher and wanting to share the company building process?
We all know he was the one to create BFU - that has led us to Ghost Files and Mystery Files. He's smart, funny, and creative. He says some of the most bonkers sentences in the English language. He works incredibly hard, has adoring fans all over the world, and still doubts himself. Ryan - I want to shake you (gently) and tell you you're doing enough!
I feel like if any one founder needed reassurance that he was doing a good job (not that my opinion would carry much weight, but ya know this is my blog) it would go to Ryan. But if I had to choose the founder I thought I could spend a day with, and feel the most comfortable, it would go to Steven.
All that to say - it really feels like a tie! (please don't hate me)
Send me a Watcher ask!

Today’s #BeKind21 message is from Find Your Anchor.
My name is Ali, my pronouns are she, her, and hers, and I am the founder of Find Your Anchor. I am a firm believer in the power of little things – that the smallest act of kindness can change somebody’s world.
That is why, for your first #BeKind21 message, I am so proud to share about my organization Find Your Anchor, where we launch kindness in the form of little blue boxes. Each FYA box is packed with various materials designed to inspire, soothe and offer support – such as a deck of 52+ Reasons to Live cards, an infographic on depression, list of resources, a letter, posters, a bracelet, a sticker, some other sweet nothings, and a whole lot of good vibes.
Within each box, we also include the Please Stay Pledge, an interactive and accessible mental health resource, created in partnership with our dear friends at Born This Way Foundation.
We’ve built a community of strangers who offer support and believe selfless acts of kindness nourish our souls and strengthen our communities. Through kindness, we promote empathy and personal connection, lessening feelings of isolation.
We hope to inspire each of you to build acts of kindness into your lives with our gift of the #BeKind21 (printable) cards. Here’s a sneak peek of our cards:

The fuck is this? “You are not allowing me to safely listen, process, and understand how to better serve my community” Dude. Allo aros and non-SAM aros have been calling you out on your bullshit for YEARS. You have had more than enough time to listen and understand, you just don’t want to, and everyone knows it.
Don’t try to pretend the fact that YOU can’t handle criticism is the fault of Those Meanie Aros not holding your hand every step of the way.
Maybe you should start by boosting our voices right NOW, cause a vague "we'll do this in the future" honestly doesn't mean anything. Also, this still isn't an apology. It's so easy to just sincerely apologize. You could also tag things so people who want to can easily block them while simultaneously boosting our voices.
I respectfully told you no, not right now. You are not allowing me to safely listen, process, and understand how to better serve my community. You posted this before sending me multiple messages. Here’s the first ask you sent where I say my voice is not needed on this topic.
I respect your right to fully block anyone you want for any reason and your requests to have your space be how you want. Now I’m kindly telling you, I don’t want to sort through messages that are aggressive to find explained points ‘right NOW’. And I’m asking you to respectfully allow me that.
#I didn't comment on the original post because frankly I have better things to do with my time and energy#But I won't stand for this kind of running from criticism#And I agree that no one who considers themselves even remotely an ally to allo aros should be supporting FYA#They've been saying awful shit for YEARS and completely unreceptive to criticism#There's plenty of better ace activism blogs you could follow that don't shit all over allo aros#And then pull the I Talked To An Aro Once card

Hi I’m Little Lizard, a long time translator who has recently rebranded themselves due to a one of kind project I’m working on.
In my experience on translating I’ve never gotten the permission from the authors translate the books to English. However with this project, I’m actually working with the author in the means of sharing these two books for an international audience.
The books are -
1. ‘地狱不允许赎回’ (Dìyù bù yǔnxǔ shú huí) or the English title ‘Hell Allows No Redemption’
2.’再次发现你’ (Zàicì fāxiàn nǐ) or the English title ‘Found You Again’
I prefer to refer to these books by the acronyms of ‘HANR’ and ‘FYA’.
The first chapters of each will be coming out - Monday 21st November 2022!
And since I took on this project for free (a reason I’ll explain more later) and since author has no plans to make money with these books, you can support us both on -
https://ko-fi.com/littlelizardtransl
To discuss and generally chat, I’ve created a discord -

(I’ll tell you more about this project once the website goes up) - I look forward to sharing this project!

+ “Design is really an act of communication, which means having a deep understanding of the person with whom the designer is communicating.” ― Donald A. Norman
Game Changers | Series Seven Reflection For Series Six, we turned our attention to Flourishing Future: Designing for a better normal as we attempted to unpack the provocation How do we in schools keep challenging binary thinking for designing a better normal? In Series Seven of the Game Changers Podcast, we once again have eleven remarkable educators – a financial literacy guru, an immersive learning designer, a Director of Student Opportunity & Careers Education, a global citizenship educational leader, an inclusive education champion, a foundational Principal, an Imagine If explorer, a Principal of marginalised youth in society, an entrepreneurial education superstar and two visionaries of the transition from high school to life. Each challenged our binary thinking and inspired us with their version of intentionally designing a better normal – all Game Changers who continue to light the torch for us and show us the way to build schools (and even society) differently.
Each Series Seven Game Changers guest reminded us that those school leaders and educational sectors that understand potential futures, and what each might mean for them, and have the courage to plan ahead, will be the best prepared to support young people to succeed and flourish in the obvious reality of our new tomorrow. That we need to re-examine the purpose of schooling for our times and ensure that it is based on the facts and best predictions about the impact of this relentless change. It means realising that our decision on our vision today will lead to consequences in the future that we may or may not live to see, but others will, especially our COVID Children and the generations that follow.
Our Series Seven Game Changers helped us explore the key ingredients for designing a better normal, so that each young person in a school might begin to flourish in their today and into their future. We started Series Seven with Founder of Money School, Lacey Filipich.
Episode One | Lacey Filipich Key learnings – I first met the effervescent Lacey at s p a c e in 2019. I was instantly drawn to her infectious smiles, smarts and optimistic concept of money and its real human value. Our conversation in Series Seven highlighted the value of flipping the ‘time poor’ narrative, this deficit thinking economics, to the concept of being time rich, a half glass full story line, when viewing financial management, an important literacy for all learners, that focuses on lifting up, from a conversation around limiting waste and liberating hope.
Episode Two | Mond Qu Key learnings – Encounters that evoke feelings of awe often lead to new relationships with self, place and the other. These moments of awe give us a profound sense of hope and the ability to see the bigger picture. Each teaches us that there might be something magical in beauty of everyday life, that we can be forever grateful for. Working in research, practice, and teaching internationally, Mond challenges all educators and learners to iterate in this space of encounter and embrace the challenges of the 21st century. In this episode, he discusses why we all should adopt a designer mindset in a world that needs us to be more curious, more creative, more diverse than ever before, through being open to exploring the power of habits and intentionality immersive encounters of wonder and awe.
Episode Three | Samantha Jean McFetridge Key learnings – Outstanding organisations like Foundations for Young Australians (FYA) have illustrated to us, through extensive reports that there is a new work order, that career pathways aren’t as linear as they used to be with young people expected to have 17 jobs across 5 careers in their lifetime. Our conversation with Samantha reminded us that entrepreneurial-minded learners achieve success by applying knowledge, creatively and resourcefully; be it in STEM, business, creative arts, trade, social enterprise, professional or any other type of knowledge. And that this ability is recognised globally as critical to 21st century learning and active citizenship. Understanding that this is not just about building a business but empowering all learners to build their own future through discovering possibilities available to them, via a comprehensive career’s education framework.
Episode Four | Hamish Curry Key learnings – Our chat with Hamish reminded me of the significance of place. This thinking is centred around the notion that learning can take place anywhere, anytime. Where young people can access knowledge at a touch of a button. Therefore, schools need to commit to creating authentic learning experiences that enable learners to connect deeper with self, place and especially the other. This more personal exchange with real-world contexts and in-country immersions allows all learners to consider the social change, dialogue and bridge building needed to better connect to local and global communities. It allows for all learners to construct global perspectives and their own meaning not only in the classroom, but outside the classroom and outside of school. And we cannot ignore that virtual reality ensures that the entire world is the new classroom.
Episode Five | Tanya Sheckley Key learnings – The rise and rise and rise of personalised learning. Alongside our changing notions of what constitutes a classroom, Tanya reminded us that our ideas about the way teaching is delivered must also be reshaped. That the old ‘one size fits all’ model is outdated and has no place in the agenda for today’s schooling, for today’s tomorrow. As a result, teachers will need to develop individualised learning plans for students, each home to a unique life, which will enable each student to access curriculum and learning designed at a pace that best suits their abilities and divergent needs, that allows them to engage with knowledge, skills, and wisdom, that are most beneficial to them.
Episode Six | Scott Donohoe Key learnings – True vulnerability is waking up each day and choosing courage over comfort. School leaders have a responsibility to shepherd all in their learning community to a post pandemic next, new, or better normal. Scott is one of those school leaders that has a capacity of tuning in and outward and being brave enough to anticipate evolution and opportunity born from moments of real struggle and challenge and flipped to opportunity and hope. He realises that courage is about overcoming all obstacles when most of the society are frozen in an old reality. He realises that courage is to not be afraid to become and reveal who you really are, for self and the places and people you serve and lead.
Episode Seven | Loni Bergqvist Key learnings – Imagine If students have more opportunities to learn at different times in different places. With anytime, anywhere learning becoming the better normal for our students. Where online tools facilitate opportunities for a more highly personalised learning experience of individually targeted stretch and challenge tasks. One that is self-paced, self-determined and incorporates relevant and real-world inquiry-based learning. Resulting in all classrooms being flipped, meaning the knowledge and skills part is learned outside the classroom, at home. Where on campus class time becomes one of character appreciation, deep collaboration, teamwork and the practical application or transfer of knowledge and understanding, of real-life issues. Where taking tests will be replaced by students’ growth and achievement through creative and collaboration projects to problem solve wicked and relevant real-world questions. Well, this exits via Loni and her team at Imagine If.
Episode Eight | Sally Lasslett Key learnings – Our encounter with Sally animated what truly matters in education, people. Sally and the brilliant staff at The Hestor Hornbrook Academy understand that their vocation is being an important champion to their students, many of which have had an adverse childhood or experienced significant trauma. And why do these educators do what they do - well, from my perspective they get that every person in our schools is home to a unique life. This learning community isn’t about a handout, but a hand forward and up, where each feels seen, respected, safe, valued and understood. Sally reminded me of my why, and the profoundness of why I will forever be a teacher. The greatest vocation in the world.
Special Series | Nicole Dyson and Will Stubley & Saxon Phipps Key learnings – Phil’s chats with Nicole, Will and Saxon reminded me of crowdsourced classes, entrepreneurship or self-directed learning is almost certainly at the core of the future of learning. To not allow learners to ‘play’ with information, platforms, and ideas is to ignore them access to the tools and patterns of 21st Century life. And that in a progressive learning environment, students should constantly be generating original ideas from multiple sources of information–and be doing so guided by teachers, mentors, and communities, all in pursuit of self-knowledge and self-created meaning and creativity. Highlighting the role of teaching becomes much more about coaching and guiding students to not only build their knowledge, skills, and attributes, but to also make better sense of what they are learning, to fully flourish in life.
From each of our Series Seven Game Changers we learnt the significance for learning communities to be deeply tuned into the sign of times, this new world we live in. That we have a responsibility to shepherd all in our learning communities as they emerge from the pandemic towards designing a better normal in doing school. That this is about anticipating the opportunity born from moments of real struggle and challenge. And about planning and executing an incremental and unstoppable evolution towards better outcomes for all learners. While overcoming all obstacles when many in society are still frozen in an old reality.
Thank you to Lacey, Mond, Samantha, Hamish, Tanya, Scott, Loni, Sally, Nicole, Will and Saxon for sharing your story and passion. And thank for reminding us all that each person in our learning communities is home to a life. It is as simple and complex as that. Born from the construct of love – of self, for place and the other.
Listen to our Series Seven: Epilogue via streaming platforms - SoundCloud, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and Google Play.

Is it still appropriate to continue following FYA? I'm ace and have been following FYA for years and they've helped me so much, but now it feels wrong and uncomfortable. I'm so sad that I never knew about the alloaro community until learning about FYA's actions. I fear my knowledge may be lacking, and I wish to support my fellow aros. I'm trying to find alternative ace blogs but do you know any other aro blogs?
Honestly, following or unfollowing fya is a decision you have to make for yourself. For me, it was a decision that was a long time coming as I had been excusing their past mistakes and flubs because fya had been so important to me as an asexual. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt that they were trying to get better and learn. when they made the post, I stopped following them because it was abundantly clear that they did not care about listening to criticism and meaningfully supporting all aspects of the aro community.
So I guess long answer short, I think you and I feel very similar. It doesn’t feel right to follow or reblog fya for me anymore, despite the comfort they gave me in the past.
And like to be honest, if I wasn’t running an aroace blog, I’m not sure how aware of the alloaro community I would be. I know what I want to believe, but well, that would be dishonest. There’s a long history of arophobia/aromisia in the ace community and the best thing that we as aces can do is be aware of it and call it out when we see it.
Blog recommendations:

so im aroace and the ace part of my identity is more 'important' to me (bc im more open to romance than i am to sex), yet i feel more, like connected to the aro community? and i like to interact with aro pride/posts/art/etc. more than i do with ace stuff, and idrk why? is that weird?
hmm. I guess, my instinct here is to say that you may want to look for different ace blogs than you currently follow, or frankly you may be at a point where you don’t feel the need for support from the ace community, but feel that need still for the aro aspect of your identity?
I don’t know you, obviously, so this is just pure speculation from a stranger. I’m not ace, and I don’t know what has been going on most recently in the ace community, but I know that fya’s (@/fuckyeahasexual) latest arophobic blunder (you can see my response @just-aro) has probably caused a number of aroace people to pull away from or clutch tighter to the ace community.
It’s not exactly weird to feel like one part of your identity is more important, nor is it weird to interact less with the community for that identity than others. Identity and community correlate, but are not the same. I interact somewhat sparingly with my non-sam aro community on tumblr because I’m not comfortable following minors with unlisted ages or otherwise younger than 17-18 as a 20yo*. Of the few non-sam aro blogs I’ve found, however, most fall into that category. However, it’s a very important part of my identity. It could, thus, be that the demographic of who you follow/interact with is different for each community.
There is also the matter that aces and posts about asexuality do, unfortunately, tend to get more interaction from aphobic individuals outside of the community. My experience on this blog has been that the more a post of mine can be interpreted as being an asexual post, the more likely I am to encounter exclus. This is not to say that arophobic blogs don’t exist or anything, but that acephobic blogs are more interactive with the general ace community, vs arophobic blogs tend to, ime, target alloaros.
I know this is long, but I hope that I hit at least one topic that could be contributing!
*I apply this especially due to the fact that I talk not infrequently about mature topics on my aro blogs. They can follow me and engage with me, but that’s on their terms, and I have to assume they consume my content at a level appropriate for themselves.
#aro#aromantic#actually aro#actually aromantic#ask#advice#long post#tbh if it's an advice post y'all know i can't shut up#i've started bolding the important points in hopes of helping#people to more easily skip to what matters#not aro culture#Anonymous#mod kee

Since I’ve gained fifty-odd followers in the last few days and some folks aren’t allo-aro, I thought I’d mention my tagging policy.
I don’t tag. I tag my own original posts to some extent, and I usually tag very explicit content or GIF-leaden stimboards, but that’s about it. The only way I can run this blog and @aroworlds / @aroflagarchive, where I do tag, is by cutting down the workload.
(I have chronic hand, thumb, wrist and shoulder pain on both arms, largely provoked by repetitive movement. It’ll be my ten year anniversary of pain-related disability in October ... not something I really want to think about!)
Additionally, I absolutely do not and will not warning tag for non-explicit and casual sex mentions. Nor will I ever I warning tag for mentions of sexual attraction and related experiences. I’ve written about the pressure I feel to constantly warn/advise for my existence in general/shared aro/a-spec spaces, so it’s important to me to have an online space where I don’t have to attach that metaphorical sign to content expressing my identity.
Even my aro creative content Tumblr doesn’t offer me that freedom. (I am acutely aware of what it means to warning tag for a story describing othering associated with adding said tags for terms and experiences associated with my shape of aro!) So I need a space where I get to avoid doing so, and this account is that wonderful space.
If you need content tagged, I absolutely encourage you to check out the allo-aro community page to find an allo-aro blogger who can accommodate your needs. I am entirely on board you doing what you need to keep yourself safe while also learning from and supporting allo-aros! That person just isn’t me.
(So, to those who folks who must leave: farewell and good luck!)
On an unrelated topic, I have gotten several lovely anons expressing feelings related to the FYA situation. As much as I appreciate your support, encouragement and kindness, and the time you took to send them to me, I hope you’ll forgive me if I don’t post them. I don’t want to create a situation where we’re constantly rehashing this event or repeatedly discussing how bad that post was. I think enough has been said, now, that we can give FYA a space to learn, consider and respond with an approach for the future and acknowledgement of what they need to do to shape their relationship with the aromantic and allo-aro communities (as folks sharing the broader a-spec space).
(FYA has a lot to do to earn my trust, but I’d like to give them the chance to do so.)
I hope you understand that I do take those asks as a gift for me, that I am so very glad you sent them, and I really do want to express my gratitude for the support sent from other allo-aros and a-spec allies to allo-aros. Given that my inbox often serves as a mechanism for people to question, delegitimise and police allo-aro identity, it’s been truly wonderful to see the opposite this week!
I hope we can turn the conversation less towards one account’s behaviours and more towards identifying and halting community-wide habits of allo-aro erasure, supporting allo-aros in our feelings and experiences, making shared aro/a-spec spaces more welcoming and inclusive of allo-aros, and joyfully celebrating and encouraging the expression of allo-aro identity, pride and creativity.
Thank you so much for reading, followers old and new!
- K. A.

Ok so it turns out FYA/fuckyeahasexual is incredibly problematic and exhibits heavy alloarophobic views. As a demisexual/gray-ace, I dont want to be associated with an exclusionist or be thought of as one myself.
It isnt fair to group people into an orientation they dont want to identify as so why try to force that upon anyone? And not interacting with those who identify allo/aro just because they dont also identify ace? That is ludicrous and rude and does not make you seem inclusive at all. Respect people's identities even if they arent related to yours. LGBTQIA+ communities should be supporting one another, not bringing anyone down or refusing to acknowledge anyone's existence.
I know this is a bit more political then I tend to get on here but it's a real issue that I want to make aware.
